To Members of the Starr King Community,
We are thrilled that Dr. Gabriella Lettini will remain at Starr King in her position as Dean of Faculty and Chief Academic Officer!
For the past fifteen years, Dr. Gabriella Lettini has not only been a leader within Starr King, but a champion for the work of countering oppressions, cultivating multi-religious life and learning, and creating just and sustainable communities. Now more than ever, we need to prepare our students to go out and do this work in our deeply divided and hurting world.
The call to progressive religious leadership is challenging, particularly during moments of profound change and uncertainty. We know that not all are ready for our message of radical love and acceptance. And we know that the work of sacred social change takes time and is often met with resistance.
That is why scholars and leaders like Dr. Lettini are such a blessing to our school. Her innovative outlook, creative spirit, and decades of wisdom and experience help Starr King more fully live into its mission and our students go forth to do the work of building just and sustainable communities.
We are grateful for Dr. Lettini’s continued leadership and service to our school. And we look forward to the sacred work that lies ahead – not only for Starr King, but for the world.
