Biography

Lauren Martinez (they/them/theirs) identifies as a Black Trans masculine nonbinary individual who blends spiritual/metaphysical embodiment work/thought with decolonial antiracist frameworks. They are a 3rd-year grad student at Starr King School for Ministry as a candidate for two master’s degrees, the Master of Arts in Social Change and the Master of Divinity. They are a part of the internal school committee ECO – “educating countering oppression” for a year and are very excited to serve as a student liaison/member for the SKSM’s Board of Trustees.

Lauren also works full time as a program manager and emerging trainer/facilitator mostly focused on antiracism work in both organizational and youth development at Be the Change Consulting in Oakland, CA.​
