Triage and Transformation: Spiritual Leadership and Organizing amidst the Polycrisis
Symposium is an annual gathering of the Starr King community for learning, ritual, and community-building. This year’s hybrid Symposium will occur Aug. 25-27. There are two options to gather: in-person at Mercy Center in Burlingame, CA, and online via Zoom.
For our 13th Symposium, we will explore the shape of religious and social leadership amidst a polycrisis of sociopolitical and climatic disruption. Because we cannot wait for government or business to enact responsible change, we must cultivate and organize our own capacities of spiritual grounding, resilience, and mutual care. Gathering together in hybrid community, we will find guidance and inspiration in expert teachers, practitioners, and one another, and will begin to develop action plans to meet the challenges ahead.
The academic course is required for all SKSM students: M.Div candidates must register for at least two Symposia and MASC students for one. Students who have completed their Symposium academic credit are welcome to attend the event without registering for course credit.
