Starr King School for the Ministry has a long history as a spiritual haven for the LGBTQ+ community and has participated in the development of many LGBTQ+ faith leaders. The first openly gay, lesbian, and transgender ministers called to serve Unitarian Universalist congregations were educated at Starr King, as well as the first non-straight couple to establish a co-ministry.
