Former Provost’s Legacy Uplifted at White House

On 9/26/2016 the White House held its 2016 Bisexual Community Briefing on advancing equality for members of the bisexual community. The event concluded with Dr. Loraine Hutchins offering a poem in honor of former Starr King Provost Dr. Ibrahim Farajaje, who served on Dr. Hutchins’ doctoral committee (1996-2001) while she was pursuing her Cultural Studies Ph.D. with an emphasis in queer feminist sacred sexualities from Union Institute. Although Dr. Farajaje is still deeply missed by many of us here at Starr King School for the Ministry, it brings us strength knowing his legacy continues to be uplifted by those whose lives he touched.
