Annual Giving Coordinator (Part Time – 20 hours/week)

Reports to: Vice President of Advancement
Location: Remote
Compensation: Hourly, commensurate with experience
Start Date: August 15, 2025

Position Overview

The Annual Giving Coordinator, a part-time position supports the fundraising efforts of Starr King School for the Ministry by coordinating annual giving campaigns, stewarding donors, and assisting with alumni and congregational engagement. Reporting to the Vice President for Advancement, this role manages logistics for direct mail, email, and social media appeals; supports event planning and donor communications; and helps maintain accurate donor records in Raiser’s Edge. The ideal candidate is highly organized, an excellent writer, and aligned with the school’s values of justice, compassion, and integrity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate logistics for direct mail, email, and social media fundraising campaigns
  • Support alumni engagement through collaboration with the Graduate Association
  • Assist with planning and promoting fundraising events
  • Use and maintain donor data in Raiser’s Edge; support gift tracking and reporting
  • Coordinate campaign timing with gift processing staff to ensure smooth operations
  • Handle confidential matters with discretion and professionalism
  • Collaborate closely with the VP for Advancement on assigned tasks

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Strong writing, organization, and multitasking skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and SharePoint
  • Experience with Raiser’s Edge or similar CRM is a plus
  • Background in development, communications, or higher education preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to work with diverse individuals and communities
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment
  • Experience or interest in theological education, social justice, or religious leadership is a plus
  • High emotional intelligence, personal integrity, and a collaborative spirit

Hours & Compensation

  • 20 hours per week

  • Repetitive motions that may include the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
  • Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing for prolonged periods of time.

Grant Writer (Part Time – 10 hours/week)

Position Overview

Starr King School for the Ministry is seeking a mission-aligned, detail-oriented Part-Time Grant Writer to support the school’s fundraising efforts. Working closely with the Vice President of Advancement, the Grant Writer will research and write compelling grant proposals, manage deadlines, and help maintain our grants calendar and reporting systems. This fully remote position is ideal for a skilled writer with a passion for education, justice, and spiritual leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Research and identify foundation, corporate, and public grant opportunities aligned with Starr King’s mission and strategic goals
  • Draft and edit proposals, letters of inquiry, reports, and supporting documentation
  • Maintain a grants calendar and track deadlines for proposals and reports
  • Ensure accurate and timely submission of all materials
  • Develop and update reusable language and materials to support fundraising efforts

Qualifications

  • Proven success in writing and managing grants, particularly for nonprofit or educational organizations
  • Excellent research, writing, and organizational skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and SharePoint
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment
  • Experience or interest in theological education, social justice, or religious leadership is a plus

Position Overview

Starr King School for the Ministry is seeking a mission-aligned, detail-oriented Part-Time Communication Coordinator to support the school’s marketing and communication efforts. Working closely with the Director of Communications, the Communication Coordinator will assist with the creation of digital content, support outreach, and help build beloved community across various channels. This remote position is ideal for a creative and skilled communicator with a passion for education, justice, and spiritual leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support website, email, and social media content creation efforts, from idea-generating through publishing
  • Monitor engagement on social media channels
  • Research new opportunities for outreach, advertising, and marketing

Qualifications

  • Proven success in social media management and producing digital content, particularly for nonprofit or educational organizations
  • Proficiency in various types of communication (photography/videography, writing, design, etc.)
  • Excellent writing and organizational skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Canva
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment
  • Experience with SEO, WordPress, Apple iMovie (or other video editing software), Google, and/or Adobe Creative Suite is a plus
  • Experience or interest in theological education, social justice, or religious leadership is a plus
